National inclusion day 2023

A Training day like no other

National Inclusion Day was a HUGE success this past Saturday afternoon at the Walsall campus - centre of excellence. British Judo Adaptive head, Kerry Tansey put together a brilliant day for Adaptive (SEN) students on Saturday 11th February. A day where all athletes of any adaptive level come to train, participate in Judo events and have a ton of fun doing so.

Split into two categories, the two Tatami's were full of excited members of various Judo organisations, including Kazoku-Kan representing the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association. On the one Tatami there were fun and games to help levels 3 through to 5 get into some ground based activities (Ne-Waza) and learning and on the other Tatami, levels 1 and 2 were coached by Matthew Rush and Adaptive Olympic medalist Ian Rose with some techniques from the standing position (Tachi-Waza).

The day seemed to fly past and everyone left exhausted but happy, which is how any session should end.

We are very proud to support adaptive athletes within our own club setting and other organisations. Everybody deserves to participate in a sport no matter the ability level.

So massive thank you to Kerry Tansey and all of the Coaches that turned up to support the students enjoy the day and of course all of the Judoka and parents that came to enjoy the day - you are all amazing!

Can't wait for the next one!
