British Schools Adaptive Championships 2022

News Article #9

Kazoku-Kan Judo Club had an amazing day at the British Schools Adaptive Championships on Sunday 13th March 2022. There was some fantastic Judo on display all round and for the first competition for us as a club in 2 years since the initial lockdown during the pandemic. Liam Jones and Josh Warburton won Silver placements and James Worsfold came away with Bronze. Everyone had a great time and the atmosphere was electric at the venue.

I am so SO proud of these kids. Nerves were present, but I always say if there are nerves, it means you care about what you do. These moments remind me why I teach, why I encourage students to push past their boundaries and achieve their goals, not just in Judo but every day of their lives.

Well done each and every one of you - hold your heads high and be as proud of yourselves as I am of you.

Massive thanks to all the parents for your support and also the BJA for putting on such a great event.

The Club was also awarded the Simon Hicks trophy. Simon Hicks was coach to Olympic judo player Winston Gordon, along with many other British internationals who sadly passed away in 2007, his legacy however lives on.

The club represented Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic School Worcester with 3 Students to be overall champions for 2020.
